- The current ladder truck is no longer reliable due to ongoing mechanical issues. A new, taller ladder truck will significantly enhance emergency response capabilities by improving access to homes set back from the road and to taller buildings, including high-risk senior living facilities. It will also provide substantially more storage for specialized equipment, support mutual aid across neighboring communities, and allow for the integration of advanced tools such as a mounted thermal camera for fire operations and wide-area search, including along the lakefront. This investment represents a critical need for ensuring effective, safe, and modern emergency response in the community.
