  • Senate Business Office - Assistant Sergeant at Arms - Public Safety
    Under the direction of the Director of the Senate Business Office and supervised by the Sergeant at Arms/Chief of Police and the Assistant Sergeant at Arms/Lieutenant of Public Safety, the Assistant Sergeant at Arms/Police Officer - Public Safety is an MCOLES certified Police Officer for the Michigan Senate Police Department (MSPD). The Assistant Sergeant at Arms/Police Officer - Public Safety provides safety and security for Senators, staff, and visitors of the Senate in and around the Michigan State Capitol building and all other Senate office buildings; attends sessions of the Senate, committee meetings, and other Senate events providing security and related services as needed or assigned. The Assistant Sergeant at Arms/Police Officer - Public Safety primary focus is on public relations, Senate Committee room coverage, routine patrol of Senate buildings and providing emergency response as needed. The Assistant Sergeant at Arms/Police Officer - Public Safety will cross-train and job-rotate with the Assistant Sergeant at Arms/Police Officer Operations team to assure complete coverage of each post and assignment.
  • Senate Business Office - Assistant Sergeant at Arms - Operations
    Under the direction of the Director of the Senate Business Office and supervised by the Sergeant at Arms/ Chief of Police (Chief of Police) and the Lieutenant of Operations, the Assistant Sergeant at Arms Operations is an MCOLES certified Police Officer for the Michigan Senate Police Department (MSPD). The Assistant Sergeant at Arms Operations provides safety and security for Senators, staff, and visitors of the Senate in and around the Michigan State Capitol building and all other Senate office buildings; attends sessions of the Senate, committee meetings, and other Senate events providing security and related services as needed or assigned. The Assistant Sergeant at Arms Operations primary focus is on critical incident preparedness, coordinating the response to a disaster, emergency or active shooter event, and recovery from an event. The Assistant Sergeant at Arms Operations will cross-train and job-rotate with the Assistant Sergeant at Arms Public Safety team to assure complete coverage of each post and assignment.
  • Senate Business Office - Senior Accountant
    Under the direction of the Director of the Senate Business Office and supervised by the Finance Director, the Senior Accountant analyzes accounting records and systems, prepares and presents financial reports and budgets, reconciles accounting and payroll data, and prepares and enters weekly and monthly journal entries. The Senior Accountant ensures the accuracy and timeliness of accounting records and assists with the year-end accounting process and the Senate’s annual audit. The Senior Accountant interprets the significance of financial data and makes recommendations based on that information and in accordance with Senate policies and procedures. The Senior Accountant assists managers with special projects and other administrative functions as assigned.
  • Senate Fiscal Agency - Unit Assistant
    The Senate Fiscal Agency, a nonpartisan agency of the Michigan Legislature, is seeking a Unit Assistant. Unit Assistants are responsible primarily for preparing budget documents, word documents, and other duties for their assigned unit, consisting of the Associate Director and Fiscal Analysts. This Unit Assistant will also act as backup to the Business Manager, playing a critical role in processing Agency bills, payroll processing, and assisting in other HR functions.
  • Senate Fiscal Agency - Legislative Analyst
    The Senate Fiscal Agency, a nonpartisan agency of the Michigan Legislature, is seeking a Legislative Analyst. Legislative Analysts are responsible primarily for writing summaries and analyses of bills referred to the Senate standing committees for which the analyst is responsible.

  • Senate Majority Staff - Digital Content Producer
    Under the direction of the Senate Majority Leader and supervised by the Communications Director, the Digital Content Producer assists with the functions of the digital media team. The Digital Content Producer plays a key role in capturing, producing, and distributing high-quality video content to support the Majority Caucus and member offices. This position ensures that Senate communications effectively engage the public through compelling visual storytelling, with a strong emphasis on videography, editing, and multimedia strategy.
  • Senator Brinks - Administrative Assistant
    Under the Direction of the Senate Member and Chief of Staff, the Administrative Assistant greets visitors, answers incoming phone calls, distributes mail, maintains office supplies and materials, schedules and coordinates meetings and Lansing-based events and activities. The Administrative Assistant also drafts correspondences with constituents and performs other special projects as assigned.
  • Senator Brinks - Communications Specialist
    Under the direction of the Senate Majority Leader and supervised by the Majority Staff Director of Communications, the Communications Specialist is responsible for providing member offices with a full array of communications services including (but not limited to) writing press releases, media advisories, print and electronic newsletters, opinion columns, speeches, social media posts, constituent communications and other communication as requested; attending formal meetings related to member issues with a significant communications impact; and assisting in the creation, maintenance, and execution of a comprehensive communications plan.
  • Senator Moss - Constituent Services and District Director
    Under the direction of the Senate Member and Chief of Staff, the Constituent Services and District Director will serve as the proxy for the Senator member in the district. The Constituent Services and District Director will be responsible for planning and ensuring the development, maintenance and execution of the Senate Member’s district outreach and constituent services.

Full-Time Positions

  • Senator Damoose - District Aide
    Under the direction of the Senate Member and Chief of Staff, the District Aide manages the district schedule, attends meetings with and in place of the Senator, and assists the Senator with a variety of duties, including social media, appearances, policy preparation and formulation, and constituent relations both in the District and in Lansing. As necessary, the District Aide drafts newsletters and other correspondence; attends meetings, and answers incoming phone calls from constituents.
  • Senator Lindsey - Chief of Staff
    Under the direction of the Senate Member, the Chief of Staff directs, coordinates, and supervises all operations of the Senate Member’s office, including oversight of staff and budgets, legislative initiatives, constituent casework, scheduling, and daily activities. The Chief of Staff reports directly to the Senate Member and serves as the Senate Member’s chief administrative officer and advisor for all legislative matters. The Chief of Staff is the primary point of contact for the Senate Member’s office.
  • Senator Runestad - Constituent Relations Aide
    Under the direction of the Senate Member and Chief of Staff, the Constituent Relations Aide manages constituent casework for the Senate Member’s office, often serving as a liaison between constituents and state departments to resolve various issues for constituents. As necessary, the Constituent Relations Aide drafts newsletters and other correspondence; provides research; attends meetings; and answers incoming phone calls from constituents.
