6. What is the purpose and how does the legislatively directed spending item provide a public benefit that is an appropriate use of taxpayer money?

Mount Clemens Community Schools need to replace the outdated spectator seating modules in the Mount Clemens High School gymnasium. The existing seating system contains discontinued seat modules that can no longer be repaired or replaced through normal maintenance. This project will replace the current seat modules with new ESM seating modules that maintain the Mount Clemens branding with gray seating and red lettering. The Mount Clemens High School gymnasium is one of the most frequently used facilities in the district. It hosts athletic competitions, student assemblies, community events, graduations, and regional activities throughout the year. Because the current seating modules are discontinued, maintaining the seating has become increasingly difficult and creates long term safety and usability concerns. Replacing the seating modules will improve spectator safety, ensure reliable seating for students and families, and preserve a key facility used by both the school district and the Mount Clemens community.
