Domestic and sexual violence impact community safety, health outcomes, workforce participation, housing stability, and child wellbeing, and survivors regularly interact with publicly funded systems such as law enforcement, healthcare, courts, and schools. This investment provides a clear public benefit by increasing community safety, reducing repeat victimization, improving health and family stability, and decreasing reliance on emergency and justice systems. This is an appropriate use of taxpayer dollars because prevention and early intervention reduce long-term public costs while strengthening community wellbeing and resilience.
