- Cook Road is a major thoroughfare that supports traffic to two schools (Monteith Elementary School and University Liggett School); The Rivers, a Continuing Care Retirement Community with independent living, assisted living, memory care and physical rehabilitation offerings; McCann ice Arena; and other surrounding schools, churches and homes. Cook Road has been identified as being in need of reconstruction due to a phenomenon known as the Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR). The reaction causes breakdowns at the joints, allowing water to penetrate and accelerate damage.
