Funding Details

5. Requested amount of the legislatively directed spending item:
$500,000.00
6. What is the purpose and how does the legislatively directed spending item provide a public benefit that is an appropriate use of taxpayer money?
Ford Lake Park is 98-acre gem located on the south banks of Ford Lake. Amenities include: a public boat and canoe launch, fishing areas, four shelters available to rent, restrooms (only open in-season), basketball, volleyball, and racquetball courts, six tennis courts, pickleball courts, ball and soccer fields, horseshoe pits, play equipment, wooded areas, plenty of open space, trails, wetlands and multiple picnic areas with picnic tables, benches, and grills. This park is staffed and gated during the park season and remains open through the winter months. Due to the park's age and consistent use, the asphalt infrastructure shows many deficiencies, including crumbling and cracking. The Township has had to make spot repairs over the last few years, but this spending item would benefit the residents and community greatly as it would be used to repave the entirety of the park road and parking lots. It would also pave our frequently used gravel lot, which would help with dust that affects people with breathing issues during the dry summer months.
7. Has the legislatively directed spending item previously received or been awarded any of the following types of funding in the past 5 years?
No previous funding received
8. Estimated time frame for completion of the legislatively directed spending item project:
The estimated time frame for completion is by the end of fiscal year 2027
